Podcast Episode 258

“It’s not what you make but what you keep that matters” - Teresa Wagonseller

Every single business has to deal with numbers and cash flow. There is no getting away from this!

Oftentimes it is the last task on the list because, well to a lot, it’s just not fun to work on.

Half of small businesses don’t make it past 5 years and 80% of those are due to running out of money (cash flow).

So today we are going to talk about the 5 main challenges business owners face and the 16 drivers of cash flow.  What to watch for and then what to do about them.

Many small business owners do know how to read the story their numbers are trying to tell them. They feel fear or embarrassment, this episode will help you understand that there is nothing wrong with asking for help or saying you do not understand how to read the story. The people that know how to read, like Teresa, are here to help you and it is something you can learn to do.

Who is Teresa?

My name is Teresa Wagonseller, and I'm a seasoned Fractional CFO with 25 years of experience serving large corporations. I’ve recently transitioned to bringing my knowledge and expertise to small business owners, and I'd love to join your podcast to share some exciting news and valuable insights that I believe your audience would find incredibly beneficial.

Small business owners often struggle with managing their finances while trying to grow their businesses. My Fractional CFO services help clients streamline their financial operations, improve cash flow, and make informed strategic decisions without the high costs of a full-time CFO, granting them greater financial freedom and flexibility.

I’ve recently launched a new venture—a Fractional C-Suite service. Along with two outstanding colleagues—a sales expert (CSO) and an operations specialist (COO)—we offer top-notch C-Suite services at a fraction of the cost. This means small businesses can now access the same level of expertise and strategic guidance that large corporations enjoy, empowering them to achieve business freedom and thrive.

Think about how large corporations thrive—they have a full C-Suite team guiding their strategy and operations. That’s a significant factor in their success. We aim to bring that same level of expertise to small businesses, allowing them to focus on what they do best while we handle the financial planning, sales strategies, and operational efficiency.

Beyond just providing services, we also focus on transforming the mindset of business owners. Many small business owners are stuck in traditional ways of thinking, which can limit their growth and potential. We help them adopt new perspectives, fostering innovation and a strategic approach to running their business. This shift in mindset can be a game-changer, enabling them to see opportunities they might have missed and make decisions with greater confidence and vision.

One of the often-overlooked benefits of our approach is the positive impact on the business owner's overall mental and physical health. By surrounding themselves with a team of experts, business owners can alleviate the overwhelming burden of running their business solo, reducing stress and allowing them to maintain a healthier work-life balance, thus enhancing their personal freedom.
